Adrien Tambay (Audi) secured the first pole position of the 2014 DTM season, with a time of 1:32.272/1000 at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg, beating Marco Wittmann (BMW) by 147/1000.

Rookie Antonio Félix da Costa (BMW) was originally third but his lap has been cancelled after he went out of the limits in turn 1 and was demoted to fourth. Bruno Spengler (BMW) has been promoted to third.
It was a hard session for Mercedes, as their fastest man Gary Paffett finished only in 15th position.

Today’s achievement means also Tambay’s maiden pole position in DTM, after 21 races in the category.

The race will start on Sunday, 4 May, at 13:30hrs (12:30hrs BST).
